Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' social interaction behavior in constructivism-based learning at SMKI Sunan Muria Pesawaran. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. The research population consisted of all members of the school community at SMKI Sunan Muria Pesawaran, while the sample was selected using purposive sampling techniques, including the Akidah Akhlak teacher, the vice principal for curriculum affairs, and eleventh-grade students. The research instruments included observation guidelines, interview guidelines, and documentation. Data were collected through observation, structured interviews, and documentation studies. The data were analyzed using the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.
The results revealed that constructivism-based learning was able to foster more active social interactions between teachers and students through discussions, question-and-answer sessions, collaboration, and joint problem-solving activities. The implementation of constructivist learning theory also encouraged students to become more active, critical, and responsible in the learning process. However, the study found that interactions among students were still not optimal, as some students lacked confidence in expressing their opinions and participating in group discussions. Therefore, more collaborative learning strategies are needed to improve the quality of students' social interactions during the learning process.
